Registration of Interest Taster and new starter sessions
If you cannot make one of our currently advertised Taster Sessions, or are a more experianced paddler (with at least a Discover or 1* Award or equivalent), please complete a Registration of Interest. It may be that if we have a number of people on a wait list we can arrange a Taster or New Starter session around one of the existing courses.
Please add the quantity to your basket that reflects the number in your group
Please select if you would prefer a Wednesday (club night) a Saturday Session, or a Pool Session (tbc but likeley October to April). Please note that other than formal courses, training and informal teaching takes place on a Wednesday evening session.
If you could also indicate if you have previously obtained any Paddle UK/British Canoeing/BCU Awards or equivalent experiance as this can help steer towards a Taster or Starter session (as different content).
About the Taster Sessions -
A Huntingdon Canoe Club Taster session and Introduction to Paddling. A great place to try out paddling. This is also a prerequisite for most New Members.
Take your first steps on the water and/or get to meet the club at this session at Huntingdon Canoe Club at Hinchingbrooke Country Park. A 2 hour introductory session to Paddlesport with qualified coaches.
We will cover all the elements of Paddle UK's Paddlesport Start Syllabus. For this session, we can also offer a certificate from a qualified coach/leader, and there will be an optional sign-up sheet afterward.
We will cover the basics such as safe moving of boats, getting in and out, paddling techniques and culminate with a journey around the lake. Details of the Start award can be found on the

New Starter Sessions
These are similar to the Taster sessions but more about refreshing peoples paddling as needed, and giving an introduction to the club while having a paddle, ensuring that people are at the level needed to join the club activities.
